Art is not just about colors; it is about connection.
At Rongon Arts, we believe in giving our students platforms that not only display their talent but also connect them with the rich cultural fabric of Kolkata. We are incredibly proud to share highlights from our recent participation in the Annual Exhibition held at the historic Museum & Art Gallery of the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture (RMIC), Golpark.
For an art student, there are few honors greater than having their work displayed in these hallowed halls, a venue that has been a beacon of culture and spirituality in Kolkata for decades.
An Auspicious Beginning
The event commenced with a profound sense of serenity and tradition. In the presence of the revered Swamis (monks) of the Ramakrishna Mission, the exhibition was inaugurated with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp (Pradeep).

This moment set the tone for the rest of the exhibition—one of respect, dedication, and the pure joy of creation. Witnessing the spiritual leaders of the mission bless the occasion was a deeply moving experience for our team, the students, and their parents.
A Gallery of Dreams
The walls of the gallery came alive with the vibrant imagination of our young artists. From detailed sketches of nature to colorful renditions of daily life, the diversity of the artwork was truly impressive.
Walking down the gallery, visitors were treated to a visual feast:
- Nature Studies: Beautifully shaded drawings of birds (like the vivid hummingbird captured by one student) and serene sunset landscapes.
- Creative Composition: Imaginative pieces featuring village scenes, playful figures, and abstract concepts.
- Technique: A showcase of various mediums, including watercolours, pastels, and pencil shading, demonstrating the technical skills taught at our Rongon House of Activities.

A Moment of Pride
Perhaps the most rewarding moment of the event was watching the esteemed Swamis and art connoisseurs walk through the gallery, pausing to admire the brushstrokes of our young learners. Their appreciative glances and encouraging words served as the ultimate validation for our students’ hard work.

Why This Matters
Exhibitions like these are crucial for budding artists. They move art from the sketchbook to the real world. They teach students confidence, the joy of sharing their perspective, and the discipline required to prepare for a public showcase.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ramakrishna Mission Institute of Culture, Golpark, for providing this magnificent platform, and to all the parents who support their children’s artistic journeys.
